Not so long ago Sonia and Ram invited me to photograph their effortlessly beautiful wedding at the historic Shrewsbury Castle. It was certainly an exciting bridal prep and when I arrived no one actually knew where Sonia was… nope she hadn’t had second thoughts… she was out shopping for a bridesmaids dress for one of the little girls. Family and friends and kindness were a big part of the wedding and this bride cared more about getting a dress for some one else then getting her self ready which was quite amazing… Ok so this meant Sonia was half an hour late to her wedding… but you know…
It was a really intimate ceremony with about 30 close friends and family members invited then every one poured out onto the lawn to enjoy reception drinks followed by some family photos up at the Tower. The far reaching views were quite breathtaking and every one enjoyed relaxing in the hot summer sun.
We had so much fun doing the confetti shot and the laughter continued throughout the afternoon as guests were invited up to the beautifully decorated reception room on the second floor of the converted church. Sonia made sure no one forgot that there were doctors there and the tables were named after organs in the body, the top table was named intestines and one was even called bladder! Fairy lights twinkled and every one cheered as they welcomed their newly married bride and groom in.
Sonia and Ram insisted there would NOT be a first dance…but after cutting the cake they spontaneously burst into what I thought was a surprise choreographed routine but it turns out they are just really good dancers. This got every one on the dance floor, having fun and laughing as they partied hard into the night!
